An inspired initiative
To implement this honourable concept, the committee members of D.V Kanebua pratishthan envisaged an institutional initiative and established "Gurukul" on at 06 Sept 2014. Sangli was a preferred town being a birthplace of Smt Manjusha Patil and with an aim to encourage the evolution of local talents in the area.
The students are prudently selected for imparting the training and they are appropriately provided with opportunities to perform at various internal and external events.
Pandit D.V. Kanebua and Smt Manjusha Patil
Agra Gwalior Gharana's senior and eminent Guruvarya Late Pandit D. V. Kanebua dedicated all his life to the "sadhana" of music. Born in Ichalkaranji, he was trained under illustrious lineage of Pt Mirashibua, Pt. Vinayakbua Patwardhan and Agra Gharana stalwart Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan. Pandit Kanebua generously passed on this treasure to the enthusiastic students.
Today's leading vocalist Smt Manjusha Patil is an outcome of his precious tutelage and to preserve this heritage, she initiated the pratishthan–which is gradually culminating into a wonderful institution. encouraging and supporting genuine musical growth and grooming the upcoming talents. It also offers a scholarship to those who are in need.
